High-quality oil vachetta leather is produced by TEMPESTI, based in the province of Pisa in Tuscany, Italy. The leather is vegetable-tanned and dyed, and the vacchetta process gives each fiber a rich oil content that makes the leather feel soft and absorbent in the hand. The single-butted hides have particularly dense fibers, high fiber density, and high strength, even amongst the originally fine raw hides. The rustic, vivid coloring is also attractive, as it is finished using dyes only, without any pigment spraying. It is characterized by the fact that it begins to change quickly after use and continues to change over a longer time. The oil penetrates deep into the fibers and rises to the surface each time it is used, forming a natural coating. The bright colors become more lustrous and deeper. This is a leather that you can grow attached to and live with.
