Initially designed as a form of camouflage, we created our first Tweed in 1846. Almost 180 years later, we draw new ideas from our long-established textile roots, using archive patterns in contemporary ways. We make what we sell and have proudly been Made in Scotland for over two centuries. Johnstons of Elgin has passed between only two owning families during that time and has maintained the same underpinning values throughout its unique history. The values, skills and craftsmanship that have defined us since the very beginning of our story remain every bit as relevant today. Our contemporary collections' diverse textures and patterns continue to showcase our expertise working with the world's finest fibres.
