Orgueil is designed and run by Hidehiro Nishijima in conjunction with Studio D'Artisan which was founded in 1979 by Shigeru Tagaki. Orgueil's pieces are designed and inspired by the past - French tailors in small towns immigrating to the United States. Orgueil means pride in french, the name chosen to convey the warmth of the heart of the small tailors. "Clothes that become increasingly more attractive with the passing of time" is the design philosophy of the brand. Strong and durable clothes made on vintage looms and with vintage sewing machines that express a story of tradition and passion.
