At D'Artisan, we create indigo using the ancient dyeing technique [Amami Dorozome] This is made by layering vertical and horizontal indigo dyed denim with mud dyeing.
Indigo and Amami mud overlap and approach black. The blue and brown tones give depth to the black, which is different from the solid black. Made by a passionate craftsman. This denim has a careful and beautiful finish.
The nature of Amami Oshima and the history of the people that have been passed down since ancient times are alive and well.
