A ceramic-topped version of this table first appeared at the Triton Hotel in 1982. The longer, tile-topped version was designed as a coffee table for the De Saram House in Colombo. The re-edition replicates it precisely, using upcycled marble tiles from the stone processing company TAB India in Bangalore, bringing in an element of upcycling into while preserving the table’s original dimensions and craftsmanship.
