The Niwar Sofa is part of the Niwar Collection, designed by Switzerland based design studio BIG-GAME for Phantom Hands.
The comfortable 3 seater sofa has a harder outer shell that envelopes a soft, plush interior. Two different types of fabrics - coarser cotton 'Niwar' tape for the outside and softer linen for the inside - are used to create a balanced relationship between two textures.
The inner frame of the sofa is shaped with bent plywood and covered with the cotton ‘Niwar’ tapes that are stitched together. Matching the colours of the cotton tapes to the linen fabric of the cushions is a significant achievement by our fabric partner Zanav Home, especially since they are dyed using the traditional vat dyeing technique.
The Niwar sofa works well in residential interiors, hotels or reception lobbies.
