SDA: Back when traditional Japanese clothing was still the norm, cotton clothing was extremely valuable. Protecting against both the cold and heat was essential for survival. Even when kimonos became worn and tattered, they continued to be used with care, patching the fabric. People of the time never wasted clothing ever, instead reusing it repeatedly. The resulting pattern combinations and the warmth of hand-stitching emanate unparalleled beauty.

This time, we used cut dobby weaving to create a worker's clothing patchwork. By cutting the weft yarn midway, the pattern appears random, and by using speckled yarn in a similar color, a pale, worn-out look is achieved. Furthermore, we took advantage of the differences in shrinkage resulting from the pattern combination and finished it with high-temperature drying to create a very uneven surface on the fabric.
